WI:Emperor Napoleon Still setups Republics.

So i came with a bit of an interesting idea. What if After being Elected Emperor of France Napoleon continues to setup republics in conquered places arguing that he was elected to Monarchy by the French people while the Other monarch were not ?. How would this combination impact Napoleonic wars and Napoleonic Era ?

Is it any real difference to have Joseph Bonaparte, President of Spain- over Joseph Bonaparte, King of Spain?

Set up Republics in the mold of what Bolivar wanted to do in S. America, with a president who served for life and got to choose his successor (there's some pretty byzantine checks and balances on this). Throw in an upper house selected from the nobility and a lower house elected from among the people and you have a constitutional monarchy in all but name, but with some republicanism thrown in. This ensures that the Bonapartes, while not kings, still have power and position.

At the very least it's much less viable for Bernadotte(aiming he's made President for life of Sweden) to switch sides; you'd probably see a Vasa restoration.

Sweden was not conquered by France and as a result is not to be converted into a republic so this is not applicable.

Yeah, Bernadotte was invited to be king, he wasn't placed on the throne of conquered territories like Murat or the Bonaparte brothers.

Well, officially France was actually a Republic: Napoleonic Constitution said that "France is a Republic that is led by an Emperor". In this way Napoleon was able to take the Crown and save all Revolution propaganda.
