What happens now?

In 2014, over 500 years since this marriage took place, virtually every major European royal dynasty, both reigning and deposed descends from this marriage.

It achieved what it set out to achieve.

Henry and Elizabeth produced three children who survived to produce children of their own, not a bad feat by the standards of the time.

Margaret and Mary have living descendants today - in fact Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge is a descendant of both, Margaret through his father and mother (she was an illegitimate descendant of Charles II) and Mary through his mother.

The two of them have tens of thousands of descendants throughout the world - perhaps hundreds of thousands.

Yes correct.

I wanted to edit my original post as William, Duke of Cambridge is a descendant of Mary Tudor from his mother AND father.

I've since discovered that Elizabeth Bowes Lyon was a descendant of Mary Tudor so that means Elizabeth II is a descendant as well.

Diana, Princess of Wales had at least two lines of descent from Mary Tudor. She was descended via both of Mary's daughters Frances (mother of Jane Grey) and Eleanor.

Margaret's descendants are easier to trace because on the whole her descendants married fellow royals, whereas Mary's descendants primarily existed in the British nobility and below.
