What if instead of John F. Kennedy being assassinated with the open top limousine by a gunman such as a sniper during his tenure as president?

For starters, the conspiracy theories would be very similar. Just replace "Kennedy" with "Eisenhower". Cue leaked drafts of the military-industrial complex speech.
It really depends on when he's assassinated. If it's close to 1960, then Nixon will probably win that election on the sympathy vote. Kennedy might not run in such a case, and could wait longer. If he does get elected, he sure isn't going to be riding in an open limo unless he's got a death wish. Nixon as president early on would be very interesting. He was always paranoid and secretive, but he'd probably be pretty bad after his predecessor is assassinated. He might even think it's some communist conspiracy, like LBJ did.
It wouldn't surprise me that there would be conspiracy theories that Nixon ordered the assassination.
That would be no different than conspiracy theories that say LBJ arranged it for JFK.
Yeah, but they'd be a tiny bit more plausible. They'd be considered treasonous in the more socially conservative year of 1960 though
I'd say most conspiracy theories would relate to the USSR killing him.
