WI: Edward VII marries Archduchess Anne Beatrice

On 20 March 1842 in Munich, Adelgunde married Archduke Francis of Austria-Este (1819–75), eldest son of Francis IV, Duke of Modena and Maria Beatrice of Savoy. The couple had only one child, Princess Anna Beatrice Theresia Maria (October 19, 1848 in Gries, Bolzano – July 8, 1849 in Modena). Francis acceded to the dukedom on his father's death in 1846 as Francis V. After the Italian Unification, Francis was deposed, and he and his wife were exiled to Vienna, where he died fifteen years later.

If Edward VII marries Anne Beatrice, it can be used to end the exclusion of the catholics in the throne as the Catholic and Protestant heirs to the British crown are united.

Well, I thought it was illegal to marry a dead person, but sure, if you're the (future) king you could probably get away with it:)

Jokes aside, I doubt it wuold be considered though. The idea of the Protestant Prince of Wales marrying the daughter of Italy's arch-Catholic and conservative hangman doesn't quite fly. Also, given the anti-Catholic views of the British of the day (I mean, the Irish famine was seen by some English as Divine Punishment for the Irish for remaining stubbornly Catholic), I'm not sure they would be willing to accept such a match without a conversion. And Francesco V would be unlikely to allow his daughter to convert.
