WI: Edward VII dead 1870

In 1870, Edward Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII) contracted typhoid, the same disease that had killed his father.

WI he had died from it? What would be the consequences? How would the Entente Cordiale be affected?

Title passes to Prince Albert, and then to his brother George after Albert dies childless. Then, it may well proceed the same as OTL.

I disagree. Edward VII played a key role in the creation of the Entente Cordiale in 1904. Removing him may delay it, or maybe even remove it completely.

I was concentrating on the succession to the British throne, not other events.

Yes, removing OTL's Edward VII may delay the formation of the Entente. His dislike of his nephew the Kaiser his motivation for seeking the pact. What was the relationship between Albert Victor (who possibly would have reigned as Edward VII in this TL), his brother George and their cousin like?

IIRC, George V didn't like Wilhelm II one bit... neither did most of the rest of the family...

I've been doing some research of my own and I think I've found some other areas of change the POD would bring:
  • Different or no First Moroccan Crisis (due to delayed Entente)
  • No Royal Baccarat scandal
  • Royal College of Music never founded
Do these sound plausible? Any other thoughts?...Anyone?
