WI: Edith of England doesn't die?

Otto the Great's first wife was Edith of England, granddaughter of Alfred the Great, daughter of Edward the Elder, and sister of Æthelstan and Edmund I, ...[and] her early death inadvertantly changed European history forever, for had Otto not lost his first, beloved Queen, he may not have had the opportunity to later marry Adelaide of Italy and put himself in position to be crowned Holy Roman Emperor.
I confess, I never heard of her...but if she's that big a deal... What happens if she doesn't die, & Otto never has a chance to be Emperor?

Well, she'll probably have more children and if Adelaide still asks for protection she's probably married to Otto's son and Otto might still be crowned Emperor as he'll be protector of Italy if only the father of its new King.
The interesting thing is if he's grandfather to the heir of Italy but his eldest son is dead and he has younger sons to inherit his German crown.
