WI: Edison killed Kaiser Wilhelm I

I recently watched the documentary Westinghouse which discusses the life and actions of inventer and buisness man George Westinghouse. On one of the special features William H Terbo talks about his granduncle Nikola Tesla and some of his involvment with Westinghouse. He also mentions that before coming to the USA Tesla worked for the Paris Edison Company and in 1883 was sent to Strassberg railway station where an electrical system installed by the company had exploded and blown out a wall during a comencment ceremony lead by Kaiser Wilhelm I. According to Terbo it "nearly killed the Kaiser". The sources below have additional information on the event.

So I'd like to ask this. What if during the explosion a peace of debra struck the Kaiser inflicting a fatal injury which later kills him. What would the long term consequences be?

I believe that, by that time, Friedrich was too close to dying to have done too much. He would have styled the German Monarchy after Britain's, and possibly have made Germany more liberal (governmentally). He would have kicked out Bismarck, and probably have started German colonization earlier and made the colonies in Africa less genocidal. Wilhelm I tried to step down many times, but Bismarck would not have let him. The point is, it would have increased Germany's relations with other countries, and possibly could have avoided parts of WWI. German - British relations would have improved (Friedrich's wife was the daughter of Victoria), and there could have been a dual sphere of German - British influence in the world, with Germany in
Europe and Britain in Asia and half of Africa.

There is a particular view of Friedrich III that always services in AH, but it is entirely questionable as to where he would have gone when once on the throne. The Kaiser, most likely, would not have been able to do too many changes to the structure and running of government.

Could he have made more claims in Africa thus making the German colonies there bigger than in OTL? Also with him in power could we have seen a British Central Powers Alliance?

The ambiguous meaning of the first sentience made me think you were implying Friedrich was in the pocket of Austro-Hungarian intelligence.
