WI: Economic devastation in the US Post-WW2

Suppose that, due to a much worse Great Depression or a much more difficult war, the US finds itself in dire financial straits after World War 2 once the wartime economy ends. What happens to Europe without a Marshall plan? Would they go back to isolationism? Will there still be a cold war? Or a UN? Would the Allies decide to dismantle Garmany after all? What are your thoughts?

Well, if memory serves, there was a recession after the war and around the time of the Korean War, and one that cause a lot of worker ire and I think a few strikes.

Yes, I'm thinking something along those lines, only bigger. Something that would seriously affect the US's ability to operate on a global scale as in OTL.
