WI eastern germany adopts the ME262

I've seen an East German newsreel dating from the time when NVA was founded where the new uniforms were paraded. The commentator proudly announced that unlike the 'American-influenced' uniforms of the West German Army, those of the Nationale Volksarmee followed the German tradition -- i.e. were almost exactly the same as Wehrmacht Heere uniforms (you can find the video here ), they also used the M56 stahlhelm (that was created by the wehrmacht in 1944 but it wasn't used during the war), eastern germany also used the STG44 until the mid-late 1960s, so I have a question: What if eastern germany, instead of adopting the soviet MIG 15 they had used the ME262? Czechoslovakia did used that fighter until 1951, so I don't know if the soviets would see that as a problem

The Czech Airforce only used the 262 as an advanced trainer after 1950. When was the East German airforce formed the GDR was formed in oct 49 I believe. Much better jet aircraft are available to buy in 1950 and prop planes are probably free from Soviet stocks. The only reason to use 262s is national pride.

Which is exactly why the Soviets probably won't let them use it. They were probably just as keen as the Western Allies were in ensuring that German pride in the Nazi era was crushed, which would be that more difficult if they allowed the continued use in what was one of the few examples of progress and a genuinely revolutionary technical achievement that resulted from Hitler's war machine.

Well, I believe it had to do partly with resentment of anything that looked Soviet-influenced to the East German civilians in the 1950s that made eastern Germany adopt the prussian aesthetic, it also had partly to do with the DDR showing it was the "real Germany" that retained German military traditions and not foreign satellite like " American-controlled" West Germany. If the soviets allowed them to do that, why would be different with the jet?

The Pact countries didn't use Soviet equipment because it was the best, or because of interoperability efforts.

They used Soviet systems because the HAD to. The Soviets used the budgets of the entire Warsaw Pact to pay for R&D and to defray the cost of their massive nuclear force. The Soviets robbed the satellites blind, charging top dollar for equipment that they virtually gave away to clients like Cuba and Syria,
