What would be the consequences of an earlier American entrance into WW2, especially in the Pacific.
The Japanese weren't particularly good at staying out of the Shanghai International Zone. There was an minor incident with Chesty Puller chasing some 80 Japanese out by setting up some heavy machine guns sometime in 1940. There was also that US boat they sank in China sometime in the late 30s.
I'd imagine that a POD along those lines would be sufficient.
For bonus points could a POD like this keep the US out of Europe long enough for the dreaded 'Axis Victory' cliche?
