WI. Earlier British Indentured Immigration to North America?

WILDGEESE

Gone Fishin'
How would the demographics of North America be different if "Indentured" immigration started a century earlier?

Would this be possible?

Would the English finances allow this?

How would this affect the Seven Years War in North America plus the forming of the USA after the War of Independence/

Regards filers

I don't believe much will change. English emigration to the Americas was already happening at the fastest pace it could, given the lands they had at their disposal and the resulting economics. After all, the indenture system requires a rich backer that for the first half of your indentured service just has to 'invest' in you, bring you over, house and feed you while you are working on tasks that do not yet bring in revenue such as clearing ground and building stores. Eventually you will bring in a profit for him, but first there is the up-front investment and in the early years there were simply not enough wealthy investors, or rather the ones that were did all go to the West Indies. The only thing I can see changing history is if England went for 'the other kind' of indenture and make America a penal colony like Australia
