WI: Dutch rebels don't capture Brielle

Hey Guys,

Let's say that during the Dutch Revolt they fail to capture the port of Brielle, thus being unable to get a foothold in the Seventeen Provinces again. How would this affect the war? If the rebels lost how would Philip II deal with the Protestant Provinces? How would the counter-reformation go?

Den brielle was more a symbolic and lucky victory. The spanish garrison was away at that moment. If they don't capture this yown, they'll capture another town.
