WI: During WW2 the Italians and Japanese militaries traded martial prowess.

Is there any chance of Japanese Italy taking the Suez Canal? They can probably take Malta, especially if the Battle of Crete isn't bungled and the Germans aren't turned off from paratroopers, but is Cairo and the Suez Canal beyond only assailable by land, or can they be taken by naval assault?
If they take Malta and stay out of Greece they can hold their own in Libya without German help, but taking the Suez is probably outside their ability. I mean even with their Frogmen being even more successful than IOTL and them really being aggressive with their navy and limited fuel supplies its a stretch to imagine.
IOTL Decima MAS was quite successful:

WW2 never becomes a WW but remains a European War in which the Germans and Italians successfully find their place in the sun at the expense of the Brits and French fairly early on by the end of 1940. Possibly a Round 2 when Stalin attempts a drive to the west through Poland in 1941.
