On May 1st 1982, the Argentine ex-colossus carrier attempted to launch an attack on the task force sailing from Great Britain. What if the winds hadn't of occurred? how would the battle of played out between the opposing task forces?

From Memory I seem to recall that the 'strike' from the carrier would have been 6 Skyhawk's each with 2 bombs and while the Navy Skyhawk pilots and the weapons used may have been better for the task of bombing ships - it is still just 6 aircraft and the SHAR Pilots of the Fleet Air Arm are still among the best pilots in the world - a number of them former 'Top Gun' instructors and most of them ex-phantom II drivers

Best case - 1 more Frigate or Destroyer gets hit

Worst case - heavy losses among the Navy Skyhawk's for no gain

Most likely the SSN tracking her put's a few torpedoes into her. Given the open approaches would Sea Dart work better than in the closed waters around the islands?
