Diocletian was one of the more important emperors in the late 3rd century. But what if he had bee killed in battle around, say, 270? How would the empire look? Discuss.

That is an incredibly tough question. No tetrarchy, but no skilled leader in the form of Diocletian?

Would his death have slowed persecution of Christians? I'm really asking, I don't know if his orders on the subject were unusual or par for the course at that time.

ASB. Diocletian is impossible to kill :p

Well, he did temporarily slow the decline and fall of the Empire. He was a spectacularly successful Emperor. This obviously means that there will be no such thing as sliced bread in 1500 years. :p
