WI: Dewey defeats Truman 1948

What if the famous news headline was true and Thomas E. Dewey beat Harry S. Truman for the Presidency? The Truman administration had a critical role shaping the Cold War. Would a Republican Dewey administration take a different approach to the Korea and Berlin crisis?

I'm still confused from reading the link. It seems to be discussions on what people like to see happen in an alternate administration rather than who Dewey was and how he would respond to the challenges of his administration. It's taken for granted Dewey would be more interventionist, but I don't see much supporting evidence of that.

He was an interventionist IOTL (at least in opposition to Taft) His campaign held little note of that, simply because it held little note of anything (Your future is ahead of you). Many of his closest advisers were interventionists, as were many of his political allies. His political enemies, meanwhile, were isolationists, so I think that says something about his possible decisions.

[SIZE=-1]Thomas E. Dewey called the policy toward the Nationalist government "niggardly and faltering and inconsistent and blundering to the point of tragedy"

Crisis Diplomacy, page 225

Gotta love Google Books......
