Nelson did die, and the British still destroyed the Franco-Spanish fleet

What if napoleon scores a huge and crushing victory over the royal navy and lord nelson dies?

Nelson did die, and the British still destroyed the Franco-Spanish fleet.

What are you suggesting Villenueve et al do differently?

Best,

Define crushing. DO the SPanish French capure all of Nelson's fleet intact without a loss of their own or do they just lose a couple ships less than the RN and disperse what is left, leaving the remaing franco-spanish free to continue?

In any case, the RN Channel fleet is still there and I believe it was more substantial than Nelson's. Not to mention what the RN is going to call back from other parts of the world.
