WI: Davis instead of Arthur in 1880

If he dies around the same time President (Edmund) Davis could be followed by President (David) Davis, who retired from President Pro Temp a month after Edmund Davis did in real life.

I imagine the Southern Unionist turned Texas Governor turned President would put more of an emphasis on voting rights and not so much on corruption. I don't know what he died of but, given his age of 55, if it were something accidental he could live out to a full term and possibly a second one. Unlikely yes, but just as unlikely that a man who made his fortune in political appointments would turn into a civil service reformist.
