Lets say that the EPAF decide that they want the Dassault Mirage F1M-53 not the F-16. What roll on effects does this have on the F1, is it modernized the way that the F-16 was lasting longer in front line service? Certainly the addition of 449 units will effect the development history of the plane, not to mention the cost per unit, and those are just the units ordered before the mid eighties from the original EPAF partners. Considering that's half again the number of produced F1's i can't imagine that the F1 would not end up being more successful. How does this effect the Dassault design department, does this mean that with a lower cost per unit the ADA decides to pursue the Mirage 4000 not the 2000? Or does the F-1's non delta design mean that Dassault designers choose not to return to the delta wing?
