Dance rock drumming (defined by four on the floor kick drumming and typically high hat hits on the "and" of the beats. The snare remains two-and-the-four) becomes popular in Northern England by way of a developmental fluke, (i.e. a drummer or group of drummers begin to misinterpret J.M. Van Eaton and other's style of "shuffle" and apply this new "dancey" style of drumming to the rock 'n' roll medium) in time for the British Invasion to be made up of OTL's bands but playing their songs in a "dance rock" fashion.
This results in sixties music (which was heavily influenced by the first wave of British groups) being defined by faster paced, four on the floor drummed, "octave heavy" bass driven, dance-rock music.
In your opinion, what are the effects on popular music as we know it up until the present day? The effects on popular culture, music, film, subcultures, etc.?
Just wanting some off-the-top-of-your-head responses to this.
