WI Czar Alexander III lives 30 years longer than OTL?

Throughout 1894, Alexander III's health unexpectedly and rapidly declined. Expecting he would live for 20 or 30 more years, Alexander had idled in giving his son political training and as a result Nicholas received little grooming for his imperial role. Nicholas was a polite and charming child but lacking in any interest or curiosity in his tutors' lessons. Even when the Tsar did decide to initiate Nicholas into State business, Nicholas lost interest after only about twenty minutes in State Council sessions and left to see friends at cafes. Alexander died at the age of 49 in 1894 of kidney disease after an unexpectedly rapid deterioration of health. Nicholas felt so unprepared for the duties of the crown that he tearfully asked his cousin, "What is going to happen to me and all of Russia?" He nevertheless decided to maintain the conservative policies favored by his father. While Alexander had concentrated on the formulation of general policy, Nicholas devoted much more attention to the details of administration.
WI Czar Alexander III lives till 1920s? October Revolution is still happening or its butterflied away? How is that altering History? Any thoughts?

P.S. If u think that this thread belongs to the "Before 1900" section plz feel free to move it...

So off the top of my head I thought of the Russo-Japanese War. Was this war being planned before hand (since it was an unprovoked war of aggession I'd say yes on that), and if so, would Alexander III's living make significant changes. Especially vis a vis the 1905 Revolution.

The larger question is whether the fall of the Russian monarchy was due to Nick's incompetence or the conservative policies of Alexander III that Nick continued to champion.

Will this affect Russian foreign policy significantly? As in, will AH still annex Bosnia, will Russia still feel affronted by said annexation, will Russia go to war with Germany.

I'm tending to think that Alexander III won't compromise with the '05 Revolutionaries. He will see their demands as pushing Russia into the abyss of anarchy or somesuch, and as such ruthlessly suppress them. No Duma, no pretend democracy, more secret police, more soldiers.

And to your PS- No- all its effects are post-1900.

How does Alexander III deal with Alexi, should he still be born? Hemophilia in the second in line to the throne can't be a good thing. Does Alexander III go over Nick's head to Michael?

It most correctly should be in the 'Before 1900' section since the POD happens clearly 'before 1900'. Technically any event happening 'Before 1900' will have effects after 1900 so Corvinus' observation is mute.

On a related note, has anyone ever come across any decent English-language biographies/analyses of Alexander III? He seems to be the only post-Petrine tsar no one wants to write about.
