WI: Cuban-Americans if Castro Overthrown in 1960s

America, Florida especially, saw a massive growth of the Cuban community in America from exiles who fled the island nation with the rise of Castro and the repression of his regime. The generally idea seemed to be that Castro would be overthrown any day, so they'd just have to wait. That didn't happen. The Cuban-American community joined the American way of life, became involved in politics, had children and grandchildren in America, and established themselves.

What would the effect on the Cuban-American community be if Castro was overthrown by the United States in the 1960s, on things like their politics, what they do in relation to Cuba, whether they go back, who goes back, if they wait to go back, etc?

Florida would'nt have anywhere near as large its Latino population and subsequent cultural stuff and would be somewhat less populous.

It'd also be easier for the Democrats to win without the Cuban bloc.
