WI: Cross party tickets in the United States?

This shall apply to pre and post 1900, although, admittedly, I am more interested in the After 1900 examples and ramifications so I posted it here.

Lincoln had a Democrat Veep. I read somewhere (though, admittedly, it may have been on here...) that RFK could have possibly considered Nelson Rockefeller for his running mate had he lived. John McCain (who apparently, Kerry also courted in 2004 as his veep choice) considered independent Dem Joe Leiberman as his running mate in 2008.

What are some possible cross party tickets throughout history? What are the effects of such a ticket and the resulting coalition presidency?

I'm leaving this pretty open...

From OTL, I can't think of any examples other than Kerry/McCain and McCain/Lieberman (calling BS on RFK/Rocky).

Well what about the effects had it actually occurred? Or possible examples not from OTL?

And coming from the man who put him on RFK's cabinet, I have to believe you.

Trying to find more about the effects of Unity coalition tickets in general, rather than listing more examples with no follow-up, but I did not know that.
