WI: Crassus invades through Armenia?

What if Marcus Licinius Crassus invaded Parthia through Armenia? The Armenian King, Artavazd II, offered Crassus 50,000 extra troops if he invaded this way, but instead Crassus invaded by the Euphrates, which I'm sure you all know ended pretty bad.

So, if Crassus does invade via Armenia, does this mean glory for Rome, or a defeat? What does this mean in the long run?

Crassus wasn't much of a soldier, so it's entirely possible that he would not be very successful even if he did the smart thing and moved through Armenia. Mark Antony wasn't very successful a few years later, after all.

It's doubtful he would meet with such a massive disaster as he did IOTL, and this changes things a lot. Even more, his very survival would massively alter the political situation in Rome.
