WI:Counter Revolutionary vivtory in La Cristiada

So the Cristero War was an uprising uprising and counter-revolution against the Mexican government of the time, set off by religious persecution of Christians, especially Catholics. It would end with 5 percent of the Mexican population leaving Mexico for America or relocating from central Mexico to Baja. So what I'm wondering is what if the Counter-revolutionaries had been able to win? What if Dwight Morrow hadn't talked them into taking the diplomatic option and the war had continued and the Cristeros had taken back Mexico?

The rebles were very much holding their own against the Federal forces and Federals were starting to lose ground and support when US Ambassador Dwight Morrow helped diplomatically end the war. So the Pod is that the Cristeros don't get roped into the truce and continue fighting the Mexican government eventually winning. What would happen if Mexico came under the control of Corporatist Ultra Catholic counter-revolutionaries?

I've always found La Cristiada a really interesting subject, maybe because my ancestors come from northeastern Jalisco (Los Altos) and straddle the border with Guanajuato.

Assuming President Calles is successfully thrown out of office (and presumably killed) Mexico would probably turn right wing. I think the first thing that would happen would be a purge of socialists and anti-clerical elements of the government. You'd also see a drafting of a new constitution, as the 1917 one would be seen rather disdainfully. I think the 30's you'd see Mexico develop in a similar fashion to other right wing Latin American nations at the time. In terms of relations with the US, I think it would give concessions for some sort propping up, so that means no expropriation of oil (and probably no land reform since Cardenas never comes to power) and you'll probably see American business taking advantage of . There is also the Spanish Civil War. In OTL it was Cardenas who offered the Republicans safe passage to Mexico after the war. With Fascists in power in Mexico City that is for the most part butterflied away.

Is it really plausible to get an enduring hard right Mexico at that point in time?

As I understand it there where two competing elites, one conservative and catholic, one mansonic and anticlerical. The masses only got involved/revolted when the faction in power pushed it to far (Calles) or became grossly corrupt & decaying (Diaz).

So, assuming that the conservative landowners and lawyers take over and rule Mexico as an conservative catholic oligarchy-democracy mix that can survive.

If the warrior priests and peasant leaders try to create a true theocracy it would fall in yet another rebellion (and possibly civil war)
