WI: COSVN destroyed during Vietnam War

During Operation Junction City from February-May, 1967, U.S. forces had attempted to capture or destroy COSVN, the military and political headquarters for all NVA/VC forces operating in southern South Vietnam. It was reputed to have been located in Tay Ninh Province right next to the Cambodian border. Suppose during Junction City that they successfully encircled and captured, or at least destroyed COSVN. How would this have affected the overall outcome of the war?

This would be difficult as the US intelligence regarding the structure of the PAVN/PLAF military structure was fundamentally incorrect on this point. The VWP had very very deep pockets when it came to operational and tactical commands, and it had a permanent strategic command reserve in the DRVN.
