WI: Constantine XI moves to Morea

In 1453, Mehemd II, the Ottoman Emperor, delivered a ultimatum to Constantine XI. It stated that if Constantine XI gave him control of Constantinople, he could contine to rule in Morea, otherwise he would lose both. IOTL Constaine XI rejects this. However the POD for this TL will be him accepting it and moving to Morea.

How long could his rule last in Morea? Would it become a ottoman vassal state? Would the ottomans just stab him in the back and take Morea almost as soon as he arrives? Could the Hexamillion wall across the Isthmus of Corinth be repaired and made into a formidable defense against the ottomans? Could the byzantines also achive naval supremecy to make the wall effective? Where would the new capital be?

I give it five years, tops.

Would it become a ottoman vassal state?

For five years or so.

Would the ottomans just stab him in the back and take Morea almost as soon as he arrives?

Yes.

Could the Hexamillion wall across the Isthmus of Corinth be repaired and made into a formidable defense against the ottomans?

No. It didn't work IOTL, and it wouldn't work in this case, either.

Could the byzantines also achive naval supremecy to make the wall effective?

No. They didn't have the money.

Where would the new capital be?

Mistra, until it fell to the Turks five or so years later.

As long as the Ottomans would want it to.
Would it become a ottoman vassal state?
Giving up Constantinople means that it already is a vassal state.
Would the ottomans just stab him in the back and take Morea almost as soon as he arrives?
Not if he plays ball i.e. continues obeying their demands.
Could the Hexamillion wall across the Isthmus of Corinth be repaired and made into a formidable defense against the ottomans?
No. They tried it IOTL and it did nothing.
Could the byzantines also achive naval supremecy to make the wall effective?
No.
Where would the new capital be?
Mystras.

Well technically it is kind off ASB but what you could do is have Constantine give up Constantinople and go to morea from their have one of Constantines sons marrys a French princess, in return Constantine agrees to
convert to Christianity, what this will do is secure French support, with French support the Ottomans will think twice about attacking the byzantines who essentially become French vassals. Come otl when the Capet house soon finds no heir the Paleologai house combines with the Capet house,
however because the Capets have no heir have a capet declare the Paleologai-Capetian house the succesor to the Capet Main branch and then we have A Capeto- paleologai who inherits the Throne of
France forming the Franco-Roman union.... Something akin to Austria Hungary.

Yes I know it is bordetline ASB but it has a small chance of happening so you could create such a tl......

Eh, how can France power project to the fringes of the Balkans? I would think Hungary might give them a better chance if you are going with a Catholic country. No need for a Mohacs of course.

Well isn't France like the hegemon of Europe, in otl Andronicos married Agnes of France;)
