WI:Constance of Sicily marries Alexios II Kommenos

What if Constance of Sicily marries Alexios II Kommenos instead of the Emperor Henry VI.

If the legitimate male line of the Hautevilles still gets extinct would the Commenians get Sicily with no opposition.

I dunno. Alexios II would still need to avoid being coup'd by Andronikos. Maybe if Manuel lives for couple more years.

Even if Manuel and the Normans weren't on bad terms, there's a fifteen-year difference between them. Constance was born in 1154, Alexios II in 1169. In my opinion, a more likely match would be Manuel's daughter, Maria porphyrogenneta, and William II 'the Good'. IOTL, when her engagement to Bela of Hungary was broken off, he was a possible suitor for Maria until she married Renier of Montferrat.

Even Henry VI, the Holy Roman Emperor had a more than 10 years difference with Constance.
