WI Columbus never returned to Spain?

Why are you discussing a fleet that wasn't built for another 80 years?
Which Fleet?

If you mean the Armada, it is a question, so far unanswered.

Would the Spanish launch, or even be able to launch, the armada under the outlined circumstances? They have no right to Mexico or Peru since those lands are in the Portuguese sphere. They would not (should not) have the Inca / Aztec riches.

The Armada was built with Spanish wood depleting Spain's forest by extremes

If needed Spain could take out loans from any of the various bankers to afford their armada

But the Armada would be butterflied away, reformation hasn't even occurred yet in your little snippet. So how can you assume that the Spanish and English will ever go to war? Without Colombus' discovery the Spanish would probably take an area equivalent to Spanish protectorate in Morocco. They would also focus on Italy much more. Without the riches of the West Spain turns east

Understood, but I am asking a question about repercussions in Europe without a Colombian discovery. Would the Armada happen without the riches provided by the fall of the Inca and Aztec empires? If yous say the Armada would be butterflied, I am interested in the reasons you believe that. That is the goal of the thread, not just what would happen or not happen, but why?

While the reformation has not yet happened, what contribution did the new world play make to the reformation? Many of the reasons for Spain's expedition against England would probably have still been present...i.e. the dynastic and religious motivations. It seems reasonable to think that Spain and England might still be at each others throats. I think it might be likely that the motivations and justifications for the invasion would still apply, even if the finances weren't there.

You say "If needed Spain could take out loans from any of the various bankers to afford their armada", Was there sufficient liquidity in the financial arena and would Spain be a good enough risk to lend that enormous amount?

Please correct me if I interpret you incorrectly, but I am interpreting your final comment, "Without Colombus' discovery the Spanish would probably take an area equivalent to Spanish protectorate in Morocco. They would also focus on Italy much more. Without the riches of the West Spain turns east." to mean that Spain opted for the Armada because they could afford it but without the conquests in the Americas they would have chosen a less expensive path.
