The USSR still controls all of its Eastern Bloc

This is current day, what countries/regimes do you think might of switched sides or went neutral etc from 1991 to OTL USSR's collapse to today?

So a DBWI, then?

Either way, you need a POD in the 80s to stop the Soviet Stagnation and allow for reform, so they don't fall behind.

Let's not get caught up on how they did collapse, they just did not.. on a non ASB level.

How is it a DBWI?

A DBWI would be "DBWI: The USSR collapsed in 1991?" -- this is a pure WI.
The "this is modern day" comment confused me.

Either way, assuming Gorbechev is in charge and they've reformed, well, I think East Germany at least will have reunified.

I can't see the Soviets joining the EU

Maybe no invasion of Afganistan? Would that be enough to save the Soviet economy? Sure, they'd lose the Baltics and Germany(and possibly Korea) would have been reunified, but other than that, the Soviet bloc, though they might not necessarily be communist, would still be heavily reliant on the USSR.
