WI: Coalition victory in 1st Coalition War

Surely restoration of monarchy. And probably there not be border changes. But future of France might be intresting. If new king of France continue with absolute route there might be soon new revolution. Another opinion is that France begun transfer to constitutional monarcy. But about afterwards is difficult to say.

Well, Prussia and Austria were going to dismantle eastern France for their own gain. So Prussia gets alot bigger earlier and Austria get's alot more minorities to deal with earlier.

ASB tho, because Austria Prussia and Spain were going to keep invading and annexing until the monarchy was restored and France was not going to restore the Monarchy. So imagine a long stuggle with a brutaly beaten France in the end and a swole Austria/earlier powerful Prussia and a swollen up Spain that probably doesn't last long.

In short 2nd Coalition coming soon when France wants her territory back.

A new & more moderate reublican regime in France actually manages to win British support (at least at the diplomatic level) against the absolutist powers' demands? 'Balance of power', and so on, as well as Parliament liking their introduction of a suitable constitution?

I'm not sure I've ever seen what the First Coalition's plans for France actually were. If anyone does know, can they please post those.
IDK about the whole Coalition but Iron Kingdom by Chris Clark goes into detail about Prussia/Austria's intentions to invade and annex as much as possible (he goes into detail until Elsass) until the Monarch is restored. With no plans of giving it back.

It depends which "France" you're talking about. Only part of the population supported the revolutionary government. There were massive Royalist uprisings (the Chouannerie and the Vendéens) around the country while the War of the First Coalition was going on. It's really quite astonishing that the revolutionary armies were as successful as they were given the huge number of enemies they were facing at once. France really didn't have a stable government until Napoleon took over.

Brunswick proclamation gets applied.

Paris is 'subject to a military execution'.

Any town which sent companies of volunteers to fight for the Republic (i.e. most of the major cities in France) gets burned. Any official or military personnal which were involved in the revolution gets executed.

White terror to the max.

I don't think so, if the victory is as swift as the coalition planned mostly the rebels would be crushed but by French royalist forces backed by coalition.

That is after austria takes French wallonia and Purssia pushes into elsass not sure what spain would take; paris would be occupied and the monarchy restored.

how long this would last i'm not sure
