WI: Cimarron strip added to Kansas?

IOTL, the Cimarron strip, future Oklahoma panhandle, was very nearly added on to Kansas. A bill passed through congress successfully but was never signed by Grover Cleveland. What if he had signed it? Would there have been any interesting results?

Alternately, what if efforts by the locals to create a Cimarron Territory had succeeded? Could we have ended up with a state of Cimarron?

Way too small and underpopulated for a state.

If part of Kansas, that's the ole' 36'30 line, isn't it? Why not extend it to the Pacific? It's actually logical enough at that rate.

I don't think so, TBH: if it didn't become part of Oklahoma, it very likely would've been slapped onto Texas instead.....seriously, though, I'm honestly amazed that this bill actually made that far through the system!
