WI Churchill would have stepped back

What if Churchill would have stepped back after Dunkirk and let Germany and the USSR wear each other down while England rebuilt its military.

It depends on the terms of the peace. If France can be kept independent, even with reduced borders in the north and some German control over industry, then the allies will be in a much stronger position to go back to war in 1941/2/3. If they can send vast amounts of lend lease aid to the Russians (even bigger than OTL) and deprive the Germans of French industry as well as probably holding down more German divisions then they can actually help the Soviets more than they did in OTL.

The only problem might be rejoining the war, Chruchill or whoever was in charge might seem like a hypocrite. Of course the evidence of the holocaust would make for a good cassus belli. Once the allies rejoin the war, they will likely end it before 1945.

Clarify

I meant a more sneaky unwritten peace, after Dunkirk Britain was in no position was negotiate any return of france. and the US lend lease help might not be able to increase in Russia because of the pro German movement before the US entered the war.

Impossible, it would be a betrayal of our French allies and would make no sense. If we can save the bulk of France (which was still in allied hands at this point) then we should by convincing the French to sign a joint peace.

And the US lend lease help might not be able to increase in Russia because of the pro German movement before the US entered the war.

Did you just call Roosevelt's administration "Pro-German"?
