WI Churchill is PM before the start of WW2?

just a thought, requiring that WW1 was exactly the same as OTL, is there a way for churchill to become PM before WW2 and if so (or even if not so) what would be the concequences?

The Allies invade Norway first. If they are able to hold it, they´ll win the war before 1940 is over. Germany relied on iron ore imports and 2/3 of them were coming from Norway and Sweden.

Churchill was seen as a naysayer and not particularly popular, until he was proved right. I think for a POD he would have to be proven right before the war, so perhaps after the Germans take the rest of Chzechslovakia in March 1939 the British Parliament sees that he is right and make him PM in mid '39.

I think his main contribution in coming to power would be his energy level, his penchant for saying 'Action this day!!!'. His insistence that things get done would push the British war effort up a gear sooner that IOTL. They might not have more equipment than IOTL, but I'm certain that Britain would have more ideas and more vigour in carrying them out. They might prod France into expanding the 'Saar Offensive' in 1939, they might do much better in Norway, and in the battle for France as a result of this vigour.

i was really meaning that churchill would be PM before nazi germany started flexing it's muscles, as i see it churchill was marginalised for (i think) gallipoli in the first war, something to do with a miners strike (not sure on that one) and the gold standard thing while he was chancellor

not sure what if anything would change political opinions of him before that time, but if he was elected leader instead of Mr N. Chamberlin his voice would carry much more weight than it did OTL

possibly meaning a millitary build up (dunno about that) and definately a more agressive stance on Germany

In this case there will be no Anglo-Germany Naval Treaty and Britain will not abandon France when Germany "tries" to re-occupy the Rhineland. That attempt will fail and end with a joint British-French occupation of the Rhineland and quite possibly a certain Mr. Hitler leaving office in disgrace.
