I was reading a recent study about Emperor Philip the Arab and in this study although Philip was not in any case a baptised christian he was well acquainted with that religion and was even respectfull of christian leaders and their teachings. However he made no improvements to enhance the status of christias throughout the Empire... And soon fell victim to Decius who overthrew him and persecuted christians harshly (according to the study it is hinted that the persecution was partly caused by Decius personal grudge to Philip)
WI Philip had taken steps to legalise Christianity? Could he become an "early Constantine"?
How is History affected if Philip had raised christianity to status equal to paganism in 240s?
