WI China occupying power

Can the ROC become an occupying power of Germany (and Austria)? Can they get their one occupation zone? And what would be the consequences of such a move?

No. China cannot become an occupying power, even of Japan, let alone Germany. Chiang Kai-shek is going to need every one of his troops for the struggle with the Communists.

Maybe, if they can send a large amount of expeditionary troops.
But they'll probably serve better in the fight against the Japanese and Communists.

In a timeline where the Communists were somehow completely defeated before the Japanese invaded and thus the ROC was secure and stable after driving out the Japanese . . . then maybe, but even then an occupation zone in Japan is far more likely than Germany.

In a timeline resembling OTL where the Civil War restarted as soon as the Japanese left, then no way. The ROC is too busy with their own internal problems to occupy anybody.

Basically you need a much earlier POD.

Ignoring the fact that they need troops to fight the Communists, why would they be offered? Germany is halfway across the world and China never fought them. Even France came close to not getting an occupation zone, and they are right next door.

They did occupy Formosa.Depending on who you asked, the island is still under occupation by ROC since they never formally reannexed the island.Japan simply just renounced the island in the peace treaty following WWII without specifying to who.

As Napoleon says, they can't because they're too far away and it'd be too much of a pig for them to send men & supplies. It'd only happen if one of the other Allies gives them a lift, and that only if said Ally sees a political advantage in China occupying Germany/Austria. You could POD an occupation in Japan but Europe's out.

It's only that I heard a rumor that China was offered an occupation zone. But it seems to be false.

In Japan, not Germany.
