WI: Chiang Kai Shek lived until 2000?

How would Chiang Kai Shek living until 2000 (he'd be 113, so theoretically plausible) affect Taiwan and it's relation with the PRC? Even if he doesn't stay in power his whole life, assume that his mind is clear and working up until his death.

His continued life would definitely make the normalization of US-China relations significantly more complicated and it's likely that single-party rule in Taiwan would continue for much longer with him at the helm, even as the other members of the KMT old guard die off. Assuming he continues to be more assertive in his claim to the mainland, Taiwan could be even more diplomatically isolated in this timeline.
