WI: Charlotte, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg marries Ferdinand of Orleans

Actually, I find it interesting to see a marriage between Ferdinand of Orleans, Duke of Montpensier and Charlotte of Luxembourg...

How would an Orleanist Luxembourg look like..

First off, this is POD is after 1900, so wrong place. Second, nothing. The only difference would be the ruling familiy's last name. Luxembourg was a constitutional monarchy with limited powers, so if the Sovereign has reduced influence her consort would as well. Although in a way this would be even better for Paris; the Orléanist line rules Luxembourg, which could limit their influence among Royalist parties in France. At most you could get a Grand Duke calling himself King of France/of the French, which would be a political embarrassment for both countries. Aside form that no real change.

Why would Prince Ferdinand, Duke of Montpensier change Luxembourg? In OTL, he only lived to the age of 39, playing no role in government and produced no issues.

Has Prince Felix of Bourbon-Parma married someone else in 1919.

So in 1924, Charlotte, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, at the age of 28 is widowed and childless, in OTL she had her last child on 24 August 1929, so their is still time for her to remarry and produce an heir.

If she stays unmarried after the death of Ferdinand, then her heir is her niece, Princess Irmingard of Bavaria, by Charlottes next sister, Princess Antonia of Luxembourg.

Queen Irmingrad, is from the house of House of Wittelsbach, being the daughter of Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria and inturn Granddaughter of King Ludwig III.

There is a possibility that Ferdinand might produce heirs, I think it is because his OTL wife is infertile...

But can he produce a male heir between their marriage in 1918/19 and his death in 1924?
If within those 5/6 years he can only produce a female heir then the family is just back to square one again.

I don't think an Orleanist consort on the throne of Luxembourg is much of an impact, where as a Bavarian monarch on the throne of Luxembourg, would be especially during WW2
