WI: Champlain finds out about the Plymouth Colony in1621?

So what if in the spring of 1621 after surviving their first winter in America the Pilgrim settlement is discovered by the French? Let's say a French fishing boat passes through the Cape Cod. The French sailors then go to Canada and inform Champlain. Would Champlain send an expedtion south to Plymouth?

A French attack was a very real fear for the Pilgrims. They had brought along cannon to defend Plymouth against French ships. If Champlain decided to investigate the English settlement would he try diplomacy first? Maybe he offers to trade with the Pilgrims first? Or would Champlain seize the settlement and force Bradford to live under French rule?
