WI: Central Powers Mexico

What if Mexico, despite the improbability of the idea, accepts the proposal outlined by Germany in the Zimmermann telegram in WWI? It joins the Central Powers, goes to war with America when it declares war on Germany, and assists in creating an alliance between Imperial Germany and Japan.

What would an additional front in the Western hemisphere, especially on America's border do to effect the war? How long could Mexico withstand against the American war machine? Could Germany possibly provide the support that it promised Mexico?

What would the addition of Japan to the Central Powers spell for the war? How would another significant front opening in East Asia ultimately effect the war?

With the delay of America joining the war in Europe, assuming it joins at all, what would be the effect on the European theater? Would Russia undergo revolution and remove itself from the war before America assists on the Western Front?

US steam rolls Mexico in a couple of months or weeks. Germany could not deliver support -which is a major factor why the Zimmerman telegram was turned down- because the US was the only major arms manufacturer in North America, and Mexico couldn't buy from those they were fighting will all the financial support in the world, and the Royal navy controlled the Atlantic so Germany couldn't supply any arms or materials.

Japan would not join the Central Powers this late in the war when it was already with the Allies. As for Mexico, it gets crushed and the US gets 20 more stars on it's flag.

Well, I'll be the first to admit "Highlander's Map of Europe, 1815" would be even more awesome, but when it comes down to it I'll take awesome maps of N'Am over no awesome maps anyday.

I was actually thinking the same sort of annexation process for basically the same parts of mexico. its good to know my thoughts aren't completely baseless :)
