The 2000 version of The $64,000 Question is an unsold attempt at a revival of The $64,000 Question hosted by Greg Gumbel, produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with CBS and it was taped on April 2000.

The format has two players, and a qualifying round where questions asked as tossups in which $1,000 was the correct answer and plays up until a top prize of $1,024,000.

In the May of 2000, CBS however succeeded at picking up Gumbel's version of The $64,000 Question for its 2000-01 TV schedule.

CBS however considered that The $64,000 Question is to replace Bette and Welcome to New York, but on the November of 2000, CBS however wanted that the show is to replace Family Law for a 2001 start date.

The version premiered on April 16, 2001, the same night the similar show The Weakest Link premiered on NBC, on the 10:00pm slot previously held by Family Law. CBS however wanted to renew the show for the 2001-02 season and CBS announced the show was cancelled on July 14, 2002, with 10 episodes unaired and replaced on the timeslot by CSI: Miami.
