WI: Catherine the Great more Expansionist?

What if Catherine the Great of Russia was more expansionist than she already was? Would she go more into Persia and the Ottoman Empire? Asia? What would the long term effects be?

A more expansionist Catherine would be Napoleon before that guy got his start and conquer Europe. All hail Her Imperial Majesty, Catherine the First of that Illustrious Name, Empress of Europe, the Ottomans, and All the Russias

Both the Ottomans and the Persians were relatively stronger than the small cities and micro-states that Russia would gobble up in Asia. The Ottoman Empire seems the most likely target to me, Prussia and Austria being second. Attacking the Ottomans wouldn't have the same diplomatic implications as fighting a European power, and access to the mediterranian sea would benefit Russia immensly. Maybe snatching up Ottoman lands all the way to Greece in the name or Orhthodoxy?

Catherine could help out with the Orlev revolt and gain in the process an independent Greek state that would be little more than an extension of Russia.

Right. We pretty much HAD maximum expansionist Catherine. That her plans didn't all work is more due to the limitations that Russia was working under than any real lack of desire on her part...
