WI: Catherine of Aragon dies after the birth of Bloody Mary

What if Catherine of Aragon dies after the birth of Mary of England, who does Henry VIII remarry, would he marry Eleanor of Austria, Renee of Ferrara or Claude of France.

No idea who he would marry, but wouldn't this butterfly away the separation of the English Church from Rome? Without the divorce from Catherine business, the relationship between the papacy and the crown wouldn't have been so badly damaged, and the rupture was not an eventuallity.

Also Mary, not being raised by Catherine, would be presumably more Henrican in her religion. If Henry still fails to produce a legitimate male heir and Henry Fitzroy still dies young, Queen Mary might have a very different reign.

Numerous options for Henry if Catherine dies in 1516 - by then we will be looking to a French match for the newly widowed King - he vacilated between France and Spain throughout his reign - but at this point Wolsey's influence will be important and he tended to a pro-french view.
Renee of France (sister in law of the new French King) is an obvious choice but at only 6 is far too young for Henry.
If Henry remains single then another obvious choice is Francis I's sister Margeurite but her first husband doesn't die until 1525 and their marriage was childless which might have caused Henry to avoid it.
The French royal house is lacking in appropriate single and marriageable women at this time.

Perhaps one of Emperor Charles' sisters, either Eleonor or Catherine? I think they were the only single Infantas/Archduchesses in the Habsburg Dynasty. Or perhaps even Germaine de Foix.

Catherine of Aragon

I would'nt rule out a Scottish princess. Perhaps as a result of the influence of Margaret Tudor in Scottish politics.

Like who?

One of Catherine of Aragon's nieces, sisters of Charles V would have been the most likely candidates.

Eleanor would have been the primary candidate, she was 18 when her aunt Catherine died.

I agree Eleanor of Austria would be the most likely candidate for the consort's throne. A French match is readily available in Philiberte of Savoie, King Francis' aunt and the widowed Duchess of Nemours. She was young and remained in France after her first husband died prematurely.

Germaine de Foixe would also be interesting - proven fertility and the great-niece of both King Ferdinand and King Louis. Joanna of Naples, the Dowager Queen of Naples and niece of King Ferdinand, might make a better Spanish replacement; alternatively there's also Bona Sforza or Giulia d'Aragona, or Isabella of Portugal with her mighty dowry.

And she was already considered as a candidate before Henry's marriage to Catherine
