WI: Carlos of Viana Had Had Legitimate (Male) Issue

As it says on the tin, Carlos, Prince of Viana (only son of Juan II of Aragon and his Navarrese first wife), has issue. This can be him having kids by Agnes of Cleves (which will be interesting, if only for their familial connections – most specifically in France and Burgundy). Or successfully remarrying after Agnes’ death – he wanted to marry the Dowager Duchess of Brittany, Isabella of Scots or Infanta Catarina of Portugal (sister of Holy Roman Empress Leonor). Either way, somehow – he leaves surviving issue (and maybe even survives his dad). Where do things go from here?

Juana Enriquez is burned at the stake for being a poisoner and a witch. Her bastard son (always a bastard when your mother is a witch) fly to Algiers and became the renegade pirate known as Ferdinand the Scourge of Catholics

I like. Sounds like an awesome plotline for a story.

Who do you see as being the most successful follow-up princess-consort of Viana? Were there ever any of Louis XI's sisters considered (I'm not talking Madeleine, who married Carlos' nephew)? I know Carlos was pro-French - in contrast to his dad - so it just seems odd that Charles VII never offered one of his daughters.

A bit of fun never hurts, no ? Of course, if the prince of Viana triumphs over his father, his stepmother would just be locked away in a remote convent in Aragon and his younger brother promised to the Church.

All my sources point to an engagement to Infanta Catarina of Portugal before Viana death. It depends how badly he need foreign support at the time ; if France steps in (unlikely), Madeleine is an obvious choice. If not, Portugal or a member of the Catalan aristocracy (Violant de Cardona ? Elionor de Pallars ?)

A marriage to Catarina of Portugal could have interesting effects on Carlos' relationship with Castile. Especially if Catarina has kids.

What was Carlos' relationship with his sister, Blanca like, do you know? I know her father tried to force her (after she was discarded by the Castilians) into a match with either the French king (IDK about this, since Louis XI was married to Charlotte of Savoy already), and then the duc de Guyenne (same one who was married to la Beltraneja OTL), but Blanca refused and her father shut her up in prison and she died awhile later from poison. So, I'm just wondering that if Carlos is still kicking around, he would not try and attempt to use Blanca to his own ends (much like their father did).
