In the Papal Conclave of 1549 Cardinal Pole of England fell 1 vote short from being elected Pope but he refused to cast the deciding vote for himself in and was not elected Pope... (Cardinals were allowed to vote for themselves then... This was prohibited in 1564 by Pope Pius IV)
WI Cardinal Pole had cast the vote for himself and was elected Pope then? How is this affecting English Reformation? Could he had prevented it? Dont forget that he had a claim for English throne too through his mother and was intended to marry Queen Mary I before entering Church...
How is an English Pope altering History in such a crucial moment? Any thoughts?

P.S. I had posted a similar thread some time ago but i cant locate it...
