WI: Car accident kills Stephen King

I feel like this has been asked before, but couldn't find anything in search.

Stephen King was struck by a van while out walking on June 19, 1999. In OTL, he recovered, though with lingering physical and psychological effects. What if he had died from his injuries instead? How would he and his career have been remembered?

I've read a lot of Stephen King over the years. I think that, considering how prolific he's been, he would still have been referred to as the late 20th century's 'King of Horror', though he's written much more than horror. It would be sad to miss all the extra work he's done, but I feel like he's written so much that there wouldn't be much in the way of long term effects in the popular horror genre.

Was this the one where he turned the other driver into a horrible villain? I suppose we'd have one fewer fictional scumbag named Bryan Smith.

Dark Tower is finished by someone else, a lot of his 2000s work isnt done, his work is taken a bit more seriously by critics, and the Universe is destroyed but thats a seperate thing.
