WI Budget and Tax Cuts Passed in US 2010

Say in 2010, the Democrats managed to pass a budget, extend tax cuts for those making less than $250,000, and raise the debt ceiling, in addition to what passed OTL, still losing the House (say as part of TTL).

What would have emerged as the focus of the past year (2011) in Congress and on Obama's domestic agenda? I have this crazy idea that a jobs bill might have gotten serious discussion, but mostly because I can't think of an alternative...

CONSOLIDATE: Sigh... :(

It's just as well. As soon as we got onto the subject of the willingness of congressional Republicans to enact jobs programs of meaningful size while Obama is in office, this thread would have been moved into political Chat, where it would probably have turned into a flame war.

I don't think I'd mind if the thread got partisan, or even went to Chat, so long as the discussion kept coming back to the question of the ATL.

In fact, if any of the mods want to move it to Chat (where it may well get more input) I'd appreciate it.

SOPA, military tribunals and similar stuff would occupy Congress's attention.

Or maybe this amendment on Defense Approps -- could mean a year w focus on national security instead of the budget, esp if the internet regulation debate goes there. That would be interesting, esp if it energizes civil libertarians enough at the grassroots to put them at the forefront of the Obama Presidency's radar...

This should be in Chat, methinks.

I'd be fine with that.
