WI: Buddhist Philippines

What if Buddhism reached the Philippines befors Islam did? How will this affect it's history?

Have Borneo not convert to Islam, the Lowland Philippines did convert to Hindu-Buddhism before the Spanish came, this means Brunei will not attack Tondo strengthening their hold over their home Island just like Yamato in Japan did, it is unknown what will happen to Mindanao since it was 'united' by Muslims, this is my plan for another TL but Majapahit will also survive in my TL.

Maybe a lasting Majapahit or Srivijaya empires would help, I think. Or, more interestingly, more Chinese/Japanese missionaries coming to the archipelago.

The real question IS how to make it remain Hindu-Buddhist.
In 1977 when I was in eighth grade (age 14), our teacher was going over a lesson, what's polytheism, what's monotheism. And she said, as people become more technologically advanced, they tend to move from polytheism to monotheism. And this might have been repeated a couple of times during my entire twelve year public school career, without harping on it or making a particular big deal about it. But all the same, it's still self-serving propaganda. It's still saying we're better than other people. And it's fine that our teacher speaks her mind and includes some off-the-cuff statements. But it is also a good thing that we think for ourselves and question what we hear.

So, is monotheism more "advanced" than polytheism? I'm sure in some cases. But Buddhism and Hinduism have some pretty advanced elements, too.
