WI:British employ a Naval Strategy in American Revolution

What if the British employ a purely Naval Strategy in American Revolution?

The British navy would conduct a blockade, while ground forces would be limited to seizing control of American ports. The goal of this strategy is to force the Americans to peace, by wrecking their trade, and avoid costly battles like Saratoga.

If a further campaigns becomes necessary:

"The British also could have used the Royal Navy to isolate the colonies and to subdue them one region at a time. Mahan writes that the colonies were so intersected with estuaries, lakes and navigable rivers that they 'were practically reduced to the condition of islands, so far as mutual support went.' Chesapeake Bay and rivers feeding it, for example, offered easy avenues by which boats and ships could penetrate deep into the interior of Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania and cut off huge sections of the country. New England especially could have been sealed off from the other colonies by vessels on the Hudson River and on Lakes George and Champlain."

The British had a blockade, and used their navy to do just this; it's how they shipped troops to Philadelphia in 1777, for instance.
