We are a constitutional monarchy, and have been since that time Parliament rejected the king and chose a new one. Or possibly the time they rejected the king and had him executed.Most likely the republicanism ideal, my best guess is that it would lead to some sort of a constitutional monarchy, maybe the Prime Minister or Parliament having more power than in a regular one?
